Mike Jones
Head Coach
Coach Mike Jones brings decades of basketball excellence to DeMatha Catholic High School, where he has established himself as one of the nation's premier high school coaches. The 1991 DeMatha graduate began his coaching journey as an assistant under legendary Hall of Fame coach Morgan Wootten for three seasons before taking the helm of the program in 2002. During his remarkable 19-season tenure as head coach, Jones compiled an outstanding 511-119 record while leading the Stags to nine Washington Catholic Athletic Conference regular-season championships and eight WCAC tournament championships. His crowning achievement came in 2006 when he guided DeMatha to the national championship, cementing his legacy among elite high school coaches. Jones' diverse coaching background extends beyond DeMatha, having developed talent at the AAU level with organizations including Virginia Elite 16u, Uncommon Bulls 17u, and a four-year stint with the District Basketball Club 17u program. He also coached high school basketball at South Granville High School in North Carolina and AAU basketball in Durham with One-on-One.
