About PrepRadar

The definitive platform for D1-caliber prep basketball recruiting.

Our Story

PrepRadar was born out of a lifelong love for prep basketball and a frustration with fragmented recruiting coverage. Manie Pellegrino, based in New Hampshire, grew up immersed in the sport. His wife is a New Hampton School alumni—a program with deep roots in prep basketball history—and together they spent years following the journeys of young athletes from high school gyms to Division I rosters.

Along the way, one thing became clear: there was a real gap in prep basketball coverage. Rankings were scattered across multiple sites, commitment updates lagged behind social media announcements, and mid-major recruits were routinely overlooked. The information existed somewhere, but nobody was pulling it all together in one place. That gap became the spark for PrepRadar—a platform designed to give every D1-caliber prospect the visibility they deserve.

Our Mission

PrepRadar exists to be the most comprehensive and up-to-date resource for prep basketball recruiting. We believe that every prospect with D1 potential—whether they are a five-star headliner or an under-the-radar guard headed to a mid-major conference—deserves accurate, accessible coverage.

What sets PrepRadar apart is our commitment to multi-source verification. Rather than relying on a single ranking service, we cross-reference data from 247Sports, ESPN, On3, and Rivals to build a more complete picture of each player. Commitment statuses are verified against multiple outlets before being published, and our real-time social monitoring ensures that breaking news reaches our users within minutes, not days.

We also care deeply about data quality. Hometown and school location are tracked separately. Commitment statuses are clearly distinguished between verbal commits, signed letters of intent, and enrolled players. Every data point is held to a standard that coaches, families, and fans can trust.

How It Works

PrepRadar combines AI-powered data aggregation with human editorial judgment to deliver a recruiting experience unlike anything else available.

  • Multi-source data aggregation — We pull player profiles, rankings, and offer lists from 247Sports, ESPN, On3, and Rivals, then reconcile discrepancies to produce composite ratings and verified offer sheets.
  • Real-time social monitoring — Our systems track player and program accounts across X (Twitter) and Instagram to surface commitment announcements, offer reveals, and transfer updates as they happen.
  • AI-powered scouting reports — We use advanced language models to synthesize scouting notes, highlight film analysis, and statistical profiles into concise, readable scout reports for every tracked prospect.
  • Continuous verification — Automated checks flag stale data, conflicting statuses, and missing information so our editorial team can investigate and correct records before users ever see an error.

Our Editorial Process

Every piece of content on PrepRadar goes through a rigorous multi-step process to ensure accuracy and value:

  1. Data Collection — We aggregate player data from multiple authoritative sources including 247Sports, ESPN, On3, and Rivals to build the most complete picture available.
  2. AI-Assisted Analysis — Advanced language models generate initial scout report drafts by synthesizing rankings, stats, recruiting activity, and scouting notes into structured analysis.
  3. Human Review & Enrichment — Our editorial team reviews AI-generated content for accuracy, adds context from firsthand knowledge, and ensures every report meets our quality standards.
  4. Multi-Source Verification — Commitment statuses require confirmation from at least two independent sources. Rankings are cross-referenced across services before publication.
  5. Continuous Updates — Real-time social monitoring and automated data checks keep every profile current, with stale data flagged for immediate review.
