John Zall serves as Head Boys' Prep Basketball Coach, Associate Director of College Counseling, and Sociology teacher at Vermont Academy, having joined the institution in 2021. With over 10 years of coaching experience spanning NCAA Division III, Division II, and NBA levels, Zall brings exceptional expertise to Vermont Academy's basketball program. He previously served as an assistant coach at Division II Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, New Hampshire, and worked with the NBA's Dallas Mavericks organization. A Trinity College-Hartford graduate, Zall has guided numerous student-athletes to collegiate success, including recent national champions Jared Berry and Bangaly Berete, who won the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball National Championship with Trinity College. His program has also developed McDonald's All-American Simisola Shittu and Jordan Brand All-American Bruce Brown. Zall's unique perspective, gained through his college and professional coaching experience, emphasizes how a student's high school experience profoundly impacts their future success both athletically and academically.
