Scout Report

The 2027 class is still developing, but early standouts at the point guard position are already beginning to separate themselves from the pack.

Background

Sean Palmer suits up for San Gabriel Academy in California, where he's been developing his craft as a floor general in the competitive prep basketball landscape. As a member of the Class of 2027, Palmer is still in the early stages of his high school career but has already positioned himself as a prospect worth monitoring. The California basketball scene has produced countless elite point guards over the years, and Palmer is looking to follow in those footsteps.

Playing Style

Palmer operates primarily as a traditional point guard, focusing on orchestrating the offense and creating opportunities for his teammates. His court vision and basketball IQ appear to be developing assets as he continues to mature physically and mentally. At the point guard position, Palmer shows an understanding of pace and game management that's encouraging for someone his age. Like many young floor generals, he's likely working on expanding his scoring versatility while maintaining his primary role as a facilitator and decision-maker.

Recruitment

With no reported offers at this stage, Palmer represents the typical timeline for a 2027 prospect who still has significant development ahead of him. College programs will be watching his progression over the next couple of years as he gains more exposure on the AAU circuit and continues to develop at San Gabriel Academy. His upside will largely depend on physical development and continued refinement of his skill set.

HOOPS: Just this week ... Village Christian beat Crespi. San Gabriel Academy beat Redondo Union. Crespi beat JSerra ... Don't be surprised if we have another 'more than 8-team Open Division'. Warning all you purists now so there's less squirming in early February.
