Scout Report

When you've got three ranked teammates all committed to D1 programs, it says something about the talent level at Brennan High School in San Antonio.

Background

Isaiah Ward is part of that loaded Brennan roster, playing alongside Kingston Flemings who's headed to Houston and a couple other D1-bound prospects. The San Antonio native has been grinding through the Texas prep circuit, building his profile in one of the most competitive basketball states in the country. His recruitment picked up serious steam this past year as college coaches took notice of his production.

Playing Style

At 6-6, Ward brings good size to the power forward spot with a frame that should continue filling out at the next level. He's effective working around the basket and has shown flashes of being able to step out and knock down the mid-range shot. His rebounding instincts are solid, and he competes hard on the glass on both ends. The biggest area for growth is his consistency from game to game and continuing to develop his perimeter skills as he faces more athletic competition.

Recruitment

Ward locked up his commitment to Texas early, choosing the Longhorns over offers from Mississippi State, Texas Tech, New Mexico, and UTSA. His #310 national ranking suggests he's more of a developmental piece for Texas, but playing in their system could help him reach his ceiling. The in-state pull was strong, and Texas clearly sees something they can work with.
