Background
Kuai Deng comes out of Hillside, New Jersey, where he's found his way to one of the premier prep programs in the country. At The Patrick School, he's been grinding alongside high-level teammates like Illinois-bound Brandon Lee and fellow big man Abdou Yadd. The UAA circuit exposure has given him looks against elite competition consistently.
Playing Style
Deng brings legitimate size at 6-8 but he's still growing into that frame physically. He moves well for his height and has decent touch around the basket, though his range is limited right now. His motor runs hot and he competes on the glass, but the strength and bulk need to catch up to his height to truly impact games at the next level. The fundamentals are there - he understands positioning and doesn't force bad shots - but he needs another year or two to fill out that lanky build.
Recruitment
Howard locked him up early, beating out offers from Ole Miss, Florida A&M, Monmouth, and Manhattan. At #268 nationally in 2026, he's flying under the radar compared to his Patrick School teammates, but that size and upside caught the Bison's attention.
