Xavier Roberson
#321Sam Houston
Scout Report
When you're practicing alongside the #1 player in the country and holding your own, coaches take notice.
Background
The Dallas, Michigan native landed at Dynamic Prep to develop his game at the highest level. Playing with elite talent like Marcus Spears Jr., Austin Goosby, and Jaden Toombs has accelerated his development. That exposure to top-tier competition daily has refined his understanding of what it takes to play at the next level.
Playing Style
Roberson's calling card is his ability to stretch the floor from the power forward spot. He's got legitimate range that forces opposing bigs to step out and guard him on the perimeter. His shooting stroke is smooth and repeatable, which is exactly what you want to see from a modern four-man. The frame is there at 6-7, but he needs to continue adding strength to bang with college forwards. His handle could use some polish when putting the ball on the deck, but the foundation is solid.
Recruitment
Sam Houston locked him up early, recognizing the value in a floor-spacing big man who can develop under their system. The Bearkats got themselves a player who fits the modern game perfectly. Being ranked #321 nationally might seem modest, but playing with that level of talent at Dynamic Prep suggests there's more upside than the ranking indicates.
