The Bay State continues to produce talented floor generals, and this 2026 point guard from The Newman School is starting to turn heads with his court vision and leadership potential.
Background
Riccardo Abelard hails from Milton, Massachusetts, where he developed his foundational skills before making his way to The Newman School in Boston. The prep school environment has provided him with elevated competition and coaching, helping refine his point guard instincts. Being situated in the basketball-rich Boston area has given him exposure to high-level AAU circuits and showcase events throughout New England.
Playing Style
As a true point guard, Abelard demonstrates the floor vision and basketball IQ expected from someone running the offense at the prep level. His ability to read defenses and make quick decisions in transition shows promise for continued development.
