Background
Chidi Nwigwe runs with an elite circle that includes Houston-bound Isiah Harwell and UConn commit Junior County. The 6-7 guard-forward is learning what high-level basketball looks like every day in practice. That kind of environment either breaks you or accelerates your development.
Playing Style
Nwigwe's size advantage at the guard spot creates immediate matchup problems for opposing defenses. He can see over smaller defenders and has the length to finish through contact around the rim. His versatility allows him to handle the ball in transition while also working effectively in the post against shorter players. The consistency from the perimeter needs work, and his decision-making can get rushed when pressed by athletic defenders.
Recruitment
Ohio State has extended an early offer, which says plenty about his upside potential. Playing with that level of talent should only help his stock rise as college coaches get more looks. The Buckeyes are betting on projection over production right now, but that's often the smart play with lengthy guards who have room to grow.
