Scout Report

When you're sharing the floor with a top-225 recruit headed to Iowa, you better bring something special to the table.

Background

Hopkins landed at South Kent School, where he's running alongside some serious talent in Badara Diakite and Tim Walker. The Connecticut prep school has become his launching pad as he looks to make noise in the 2027 class. Still early in his high school career, but the foundation is there.

Playing Style

At 6-7, Hopkins has the frame to create matchup problems at the small forward spot. He's got good length and can handle the ball well enough to initiate offense when needed. His shooting stroke looks consistent from mid-range, though the three-ball needs more work to become a weapon. The motor runs hot and he competes on both ends, but he needs to add strength to hold up against physical defenders. His court vision is developing - makes the right reads most of the time but sometimes forces passes that aren't there.

Recruitment

No reported offers yet, which isn't surprising for a 2027 prospect still finding his footing. Playing next to proven talent like Diakite should help him learn what college-level intensity looks like. If he continues developing that outside shot and adds muscle to his frame, expect schools to start circling.
