Scout Report
At 6-6 with a nationally-ranked skillset, this Virginia wing is already turning heads as one of the most promising prospects in the 2028 class.
Background
Hailing from Warrenton, Virginia, Isaiah Carter has found himself in an ideal development situation at Highland School. Playing alongside elite 2025 forward Nate Ament, the #4 prospect in his class who has committed to Tennessee, Carter has been able to learn from and compete against top-tier talent on a daily basis. This high-level environment has accelerated his growth and provided invaluable experience against premium competition.
Playing Style
Carter possesses the prototypical frame and versatility that college coaches covet in modern small forwards. His 6-6 size allows him to create mismatches on the perimeter while also holding his own in the paint when needed. He demonstrates solid court vision and basketball IQ, making smart decisions with the ball in his hands. While still developing his outside shot consistency, Carter shows flashes of being a legitimate three-level scorer who can attack closeouts and finish through contact around the rim.
Recruitment
With four Division I offers already on the table from BYU, Oklahoma State, Virginia, and VCU, Carter's recruitment is gaining significant momentum despite being just a sophomore. His national ranking of #33 in the 2028 class reflects his high ceiling and the potential for continued upward trajectory. The combination of his physical tools, basketball IQ, and competitive environment at Highland School positions him well to add more high-major offers as he continues to develop.
