Scout Report
When a player from Arkansas commits to the Razorbacks before his junior year even starts, you know the home-state program sees something special.
Background
JJ Andrews grew up in Little Rock and landed at Little Rock Christian Academy, where he's developed into one of the premier prospects in the Natural State. The 6-6 forward has been grinding on the elite AAU circuit with EYBL competition, including appearances at Peach Jam where he's gone up against the best talent in his class. His rise through the ranks has been steady and impressive, catching the attention of major programs across the country.
Playing Style
Andrews brings legitimate size at 6-6 with the versatility to play multiple positions on the perimeter. His length allows him to be disruptive defensively while his developing offensive skill set makes him a matchup problem for opposing wings. He's got the frame to continue adding strength, which should help him finish better through contact as he matures. The jump shot is still a work in progress, but the mechanics are sound enough that you can project improvement. His basketball IQ is advanced for his age, and he rarely forces bad shots or makes careless turnovers.
Recruitment
With 10 Division I offers already in hand from programs like Missouri, NC State, LSU, and Illinois, Andrews had plenty of options before pulling the trigger on Arkansas. His commitment to the Razorbacks gives them a cornerstone piece for their 2026 class and keeps an elite in-state talent home. At #12 nationally in his class, he projects as a multi-year contributor who could develop into an all-conference caliber player.
