Isiah Harwell
#12Houston
Scout Report
When a top-15 national recruit already has his bags packed for college while his prep teammates are still fielding calls from coaches, you know the program got a steal.
Background
Harwell hails from Mount Pleasant, Utah, before making the move to basketball powerhouse Wasatch Academy. The 6-6 shooting guard reclassified and enrolled early at Houston, skipping the typical senior season circus. He's now suiting up for the Cougars while sharing the prep court with a loaded Wasatch roster that includes UConn commit Junior County and Creighton pledge Katrelle Harmon.
Playing Style
Harwell's calling card is pure shooting ability. The kid can stroke it from deep with consistent mechanics and range that extends well beyond the arc. At 6-6, he's got ideal size for a two-guard and can shoot over smaller defenders without much trouble. His length allows him to get his shot off in traffic, though he'll need to continue developing his ability to create off the bounce and improve his overall shot selection as he adjusts to college-level athleticism.
Recruitment
The recruitment is over - Harwell chose Houston over offers from Idaho and New Orleans. He's already enrolled and getting his feet wet at the Division I level. His ceiling depends on how quickly he adapts to the speed and physicality of college basketball, but programs that passed on him might regret it if his shooting translates.

@isiah_harwell1 had a hot hand 🔥
Isiah Harwell was a 5-star recruit and McDonald's All-American in the 2025 class. At 6'6" 215, the 3 & D prospect was projected early as a lottery pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. After missing the entire summer due to injury, the freshman is starting to find his way on a talented Houston team. Harwell has shotmaking ability and positional two-way size. A young prospect whose greatest years are ahead of him. Name to watch over the next two months.
