Scout Report

When a 6-6 freshman guard drops 53 points in a game, you stop what you're doing and watch the film twice.

Background

The Los Angeles native made his mark at Chatsworth High School before making the leap straight to USC as part of the 2025 recruiting class. Coming out of the competitive LA prep scene, he built his reputation through explosive scoring performances that had college coaches lining up early. His recruitment heated up quickly with major programs across the country taking notice of his unique size-skill combination.

Playing Style

Arenas brings an intriguing blend of size and perimeter skills that's tough to find at the college level. At 6-6, he can play multiple guard spots and has the length to finish over smaller defenders in the paint. His scoring ability is already college-ready, evidenced by those big-number games in high school. The shot-making range extends well beyond the arc, and he's comfortable creating his own looks off the dribble. Still needs to tighten up his decision-making and learn when to facilitate versus hunt his own shot, but that comes with experience at this level.

Recruitment

Already enrolled and playing at USC, so the recruitment phase is behind him. The Trojans beat out heavy hitters like Kentucky, Kansas, and Alabama for his signature. His ceiling projects as a potential NBA prospect if he continues developing his all-around game and basketball IQ at the college level.

Stat Highlight

Put up explosive scoring numbers including a 53-point performance and a 41-point game during his high school career.
