Scout Report
Standing at 6-10 with the frame to develop into a true rim protector, this Tennessee native has already made the jump to Division I basketball after a stellar prep career.
Background
Hailing from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Chris Cenac Jr. developed his skills before making the move to Link Academy for his final prep seasons. At Link, he competed alongside some of the nation's elite prospects, including top-ranked players like Davion Thompson and Ethan Taylor, preparing him for the intensity of college basketball. The experience of practicing and playing with such high-level talent provided invaluable preparation for his transition to Houston.
Playing Style
Cenac Jr. brings a traditional center's presence to the Cougars with his 6-10 frame and natural instincts around the rim. His length and positioning make him a natural shot-blocker and defensive anchor, capable of altering shots even when he doesn't record blocks. Offensively, he's still developing his post moves and touch around the basket, but his size alone creates problems for opposing defenses. His rebounding ability on both ends gives Houston additional possessions, and his basketball IQ allows him to make smart decisions in traffic.
Recruitment
Now suiting up for the Houston Cougars, Cenac Jr. has found his college home after being ranked #34 nationally in the 2025 recruiting class. His commitment to Houston gives the program a legitimate big man presence and rim protector for years to come. With proper development under college coaching, he projects as a player who could become a significant contributor in the American Athletic Conference.
