Scout Report

The nation's top high school prospect has officially made the jump to college basketball, bringing elite versatility and championship expectations to Provo.

Background

The Brockton, Massachusetts native made waves throughout his prep career before landing at Utah Prep for his final high school season. At Utah Prep, he competed alongside an elite roster including fellow BYU commit Xavion Staton and other top-tier prospects like Anthony Felesi and JJ Mandaquit. After being courted by basketball powerhouses including Duke, Arizona, and Villanova, he ultimately chose to stay close to his prep school roots by enrolling at BYU.

Playing Style

Standing 6-9 with tremendous length and mobility, he possesses the prototypical modern wing frame that allows him to guard multiple positions while creating matchup nightmares on offense. His combination of size, ball-handling ability, and court vision makes him a versatile weapon who can operate from the perimeter or attack the rim with equal effectiveness. The versatility to play multiple positions seamlessly translates perfectly to college basketball, where his length and athleticism should create immediate impact opportunities. His high basketball IQ and ability to make plays for others sets him apart from typical scoring wings at the collegiate level.

Recruitment

Now enrolled at BYU after being the crown jewel of their 2025 recruiting class, expectations are sky-high for immediate contribution and future NBA potential. His decision to join the Cougars alongside teammate Xavion Staton gives BYU a formidable frontcourt duo that should compete at the highest levels of college basketball. The ceiling remains exceptionally high with projected one-and-done potential if he adapts quickly to the collegiate game.

Basketball has given me a platform, and with that comes responsibility. I’ve learned how powerful belief can be when someone is willing to invest in you at the right moment. I’m excited to share the launch of the AJ Dybantsa Foundation. The goal is to help create opportunities for young people and communities by showing up in meaningful ways, whether that’s donating sneakers to the Boys and Girls Club or spearheading fundraising efforts for hurricane relief in Jamaica. I’m thankful for everyone who’s been part of my journey so far, and I’m excited to take this next step together. 🔗 in bio.
